Our Warranty
Our Warranty! Automobile glass is warranted against defects in material or workmanship for as long as you own the vehicle in which the glass is installed so long as such defects are brought to the attention of Mountain Vista Windshields within 30 days of discovery of a defect. Truck sliding back glass is warranted against defects in material and workmanship for two years from the date of installation as shown on the invoice.
This warranty does cover leaks, stress cracks, or related damage in connection with installations to vehicles having damage or rust on the pinch weld. Mountain Vista Windshields will use reasonable efforts to advise you of the existence of such damage or rust prior to removal of existing glass; however, it is often not possible to do this. In these cases, Mountain Vista Windshields is not responsible for any associated damage. In addition, damage not involving defective workmanship or materials is expressly excluded from coverage under this warranty. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights and you may also have other rights, which vary from state to state.
If you have a problem that is covered by this warranty, you may contact our store or phone Toll Free 1-888-899-GUYS (4897) and we will replace or repair the warranted product or correct the defective workmanship without charge at a mutually agreed upon time. If we are unable to do so, we will refund the original purchase price of your warranted product. In order to exercise your rights under this warranty, we will require evidence of installation by Mountain Vista Windshields, such as a copy of the invoice.
The repair process involves the injection of adhesives into the damaged part of the glass. The degree of success of each repair is a function of several variables. The best results are obtained when the damage is recent, the point of impact small, the cracks around the damaged area is small, and there is not moisture or other foreign matter in the damaged area. If you are dissatisfied with the repair, we will credit the cost of repair toward replacement.We guarantee that the repaired portion of the windshield will not crack further and that the repair will pass any state vehicle inspection, or we will credit the cost of repair toward replacement.
This warranty applies as long as you own or lease the vehicle on which the repair was made and is not transferable.
Auto Glass Warranty Does Not Cover:
1. Leakage or damage caused by pre-existing damage to the window frame or pre-existing rust on the window frame.
2. Damage caused to your windshield by impact with foreign objects (rocks, etc…), vandalism, theft, accidents or reckless conduct resulting in a broken windshield.

Handling Insurance Claims

3.First, call your insurance company for handling insurance claims. In most cases, you will have an option for glass claims. Once you choose this option you may be transferred in to a third party administrator of which many are associated with auto glass installation or auto glass manufacturing companies. The administrator will verify online your coverage and statement of loss. Once coverage is verified you will be given a referral number. You can then inform your administrator you would like Mountain Vista Windshields to handle the repair for you. This referral number is the information we will need to communicate with the administrator and handle the insurance billing. Remember, the administrator is legally prohibited to suggest any specific auto glass shop especially one associated with them. You alone have the right to choose the repair facility that best suits you. Next, the administrator will either hold a three-way call to schedule the appointment or they will send us the dispatch of the work order and once we receive that, we will call you to schedule an appointment. At this point, we handle billing the insurance company any amount above the deductible. Q. Will my insurance cover the cost of windshield replacement?
A. Yes, if you have full comprehensive coverage. Your comprehensive deductible is the only out of pocket expense and in most cases is $0-$100. If your deductible is more than $100 (confirm with your agent or insurance company it is your comprehensive deductible and not your collision deductible).
Q. Who will handle billing my insurance?
A. We will handle all paperwork and billing directly with your insurance company taking care of the hassle involved so you don’t have to.
Q. Will windshield replacement affect my insurance rates?
A. No. Windshield replacement falls under comprehensive insurance and not collision insurance. Cracks in your windshield have do not indicate a risk to the insurance company as it does not reflect your driving ability.
Q. Will my new windshield be the same quality I have in my vehicle now?
A. Yes. We use only DOT-Certified auto glass for each installation. Additionally, we use the highest quality OEM glass or high quality after-market glass for individuals or businesses depending on your budget for the auto glass replacement.
Q. How long will it take to replace my windshield?
A. It will take approximately 1 hour. To ensure proper curing for the urethane seal, we recommend you refrain from driving your vehicle for 2-3 hours. Your technician will provide the best estimate of a safe drive-away time based on humidity, temperature and type of urethane and additional conditions and materials used.
Q. Can you replace my windshield or auto glass when it is raining or snowing?
A. We require working in a carport, garage, parking garage, etc. or any other suitably covered area, in order to provide mobile auto glass service during inclement weather.
Q. Do you only provide windshield glass?
A. No. We sell and service all auto glass parts including doors, vents, back or quarter windows and more.
Q. Why is a cracked or improperly installed windshield dangerous?
A. A cracked or improperly installed windshield can be a danger to you and your passenger’s safety. The windshield prevents passengers from being ejected during an accident. It is an important barrier and a cracked or poorly installed windshield can fail during a collision or roll over allowing passengers to be ejected. Also, your windshield is a “backstop” for the passenger side air bags. A cracked windshield lacks the structural integrity necessary to absorb the force of a deployed airbag. Finally, your windshield supports the roof. It is designed to prevent the roof from crushing you in a roll over accident. A cracked windshield may fail to support the roof if the car flips over, causing severe injury or death to occupants.
